4-H

Lehigh County 4-H Equine Club is a group of 8-18 year olds who share an interest in horses.

The Equine Club is open to anyone. Owning a horse is not required.

The club, which meets on the second Monday of every month, will unite horse lovers, broaden their knowledge on equine animals and develop life skills such as teamwork.

Each member of the club must complete a project each year. The project can be creating a poster or display for the Great Allentown Fair on an equine subject.

Members with horses can do a project by caring for, training and competing with their horses in the Lehigh County 4-H Roundup.

Club members often take field trips to equine-related places, such as the Bethlehem and Pennsylvania State Mounted Police stables.

They also participate in various community service activities such as St. Jude Trail Ride, Toys for Tots and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia toy drive and fundraisers to support the club.

Anyone with an interest in horses is encouraged to join the Lehigh County 4-H Equine Club.

For more information, contact Jo Lee Muller, club leader, at 610-509-9991.
