A Fifth Street construction company reported the theft of nearly $2,900 worth of equipment around 6 p.m. Sept. 14.

According to police, the gear was unsecured in the bed of a truck parked on the street in front of the business and was taken within a half-hour around 10 p.m. the prior evening.

A wheelbarrow, air compressor, pipe saw, portable generator and hammer drill are all reported missing.

Police said a bicycle was left at the scene.
