Susan E. Hackman, 68, of Lower Saucon Township, died Sept.12, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of Levis and Florence (Urian) Patten. She was the wife of Herman R. Hackman Jr. for 44 years.

She was a graduate of Olney High School, Philadelphia. She graduated from Penn State, where she had earned a degree in German education. She earned certification in mathematics from Temple University.

She taught German in the Hatboro Horsham School District; and German and mathematics at St. Basil’s Academy, Philadelphia.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Karl and Dawna Bruce, his fiancée; and a sister, Jane (Patten) Leichner.
