Sage will perform Sept. 17

Sage, a local music duo, will play live acoustic and electric music - everything from classic to contemporary rock, blues and pop - at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17.

On Monday, Sept. 21, at our third Monday open mic and jam, we will have Rocking the Valley Internet Radio broadcasting live from the library. Entertainers interested in performing three songs or a 15-minute set are asked to sign up just before 6:30 p.m. Musicians, singers, comedians, storytellers, mimes, etc., are invited to show off their stuff. Or just come and be part of the audience.

Summer is officially over, so we begin our fall programming at the Whitehall Township Public Library. Registration for Storytime began Sept. 8, but there are still a few spots open.

Mrs. Santaliz or Mrs. Diane read interesting stories to and provide crafts for children ages 3 to 6. Fall sessions begin Sept. 22, so register early for a spot.

Family Storytime begins Sept. 23 and is held every Wednesday night beginning at 7 p.m. No registration is needed for the Wednesday night Storytime. Come to the library with your young children, listen to a story and do crafts. Sessions run until November.

The Barbershop Quartet ffourtissimo will be here to perform “This is the ‘60s!” at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 24. This program honors the library’s founding in 1965 and is free and open to all.

At 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 16, we will have a program called “Nation’s Attic (Take a Peek!),” with Patrick Connelly, about the national archives in Philadelphia. If you are a history buff or genealogist, or would just like to read old items, you may want to do some digging around in old photos and archives. Pat will give us an online tour. Join us as we explore the American past.

We are now taking donations for the annual book sale, to be held 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19; 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20; and 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21. The used book sale will be held in our community room. On Saturday, Nov. 21, there will be a $5-per-bag sale. Bring your own bag - any size!

Snoopy is our honorary chair for Library Card Sign-Up Month 2015. Snoopy, the world-famous beagle, has been known as The Flying Ace, The Masked Marvel, Man’s Best Friend and the Literary Ace, among others.

Snoopy reminds everyone, kids and adults, to get a library card and use the library often.
