Rose Tallarico, 78, RN, of Orefield, died Sept. 10, 2015, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township surrounded by her family.

The loving wife of Joseph N. Tallarico, they were married 54 years in July.

A 1955 graduate of Westside High School, Newark, N.J., she then graduated from St. Michael’s School of Nursing in 1957.

She was a registered nurse for West End Medical Center and the Women’s Health Center, along with other private practices in Allentown before retiring.

Previously, she worked for Clara Maass Hospital, Belleville, N.J.

Born in Newark, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Corinne (Defino) Cancellieri.

A faithful member of St. Joseph The Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield, she was a member of the Women’s Guild.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Joseph N. Jr of Breinigsville, Louis A. and wife, Rebecca, of Orefield; daughter, Debra A., wife of John Sterner of Breinigsville; brother Frank and wife, Yenia; sister, Madeline, wife of Peter Scarpulla, all in New Jersey; the lights of her life, grandchildren Matthew, Rachel and Gina; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son Vincent Michael.
