Donald M. Cole

Donald M. Cole, 87, of Bethlehem and formerly of Orefield, died Sept. 7, 2015, at ManorCare Health Services II, Westgate, Bethlehem. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Stanley Cole and Carolyn (Reinhard) Knepper. He was the husband of Ellen I. (Ruch) Cole.

He was a layout operator for the former Western Electric Corporation, later AT&T, and Lucent Technologies, Allentown, for 37 years until he retired in 1987.

He was a member of Nativity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown.

He was a member of Ranger Lake Rod and Gun Club, Coplay. He was a former member of St. John’s U.C.C., Howertown, where he was on the church council. He was a member of the board of directors of Greenwood Cemetery, Howertown. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Lynn and her husband Theodore Lopsonzski of Orefield, Tippi and her husband Thomas Williams of Bethlehem and Carol Zambelli of Long Island, N.Y.; a son, Donald M. Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Orefield; six grandchildren, Kelli and her husband Senator Jake Corman, Thomas and his wife Julie Williams, Casey and his wife Kristen Williams, Michael Zambelli, Cocca and her husband Richard McGuire and KaeDee and her husband Dr. Thomas Nowakowski; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a grandson, Donald Z. Cole.
