Patricia J. Szapacs, 74, of Slatington, died Sept. 7, 2015, in her home.

She and her husband Joseph Szapacs Jr. were married 56 years on March 28.

Born Dec. 15, 1940, in Washington Township, she was the daughter of the late Franklin P. and Arlene M. (Krum) Phillips.

The manager of the former Kings IGA Restaurant, Schnecksville, for 28 years, she retired in 2002.

She was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, where she formerly served with the Helping Hands, and was a former Girl Scout and 4-H Leader.

She also was a former member of the former Washington Grange 1763.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by children Rickey F. and his wife, Dianne, of Northampton, Susan J. Schaffer and her husband, Timothy, of Slatington; sister Jean R. Hoffman of Schnecksville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Her funeral services will be at 10:30 am. on Sept. 11, at Union UCC, 5550 Route 873, Neffs, with the Rev. Dr. Patience D. Stevenson officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30-10:30 am. Friday, in the church narthex.

Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
