Back-to-school open houses scheduled
Welcome back to the school year craziness. I hope everyone had a great summer.
There will be an operations meeting at Salisbury Middle School 7 p.m. Sept. 9.
Harry S Truman Elementary School will hold a back-to-school open house for parents of students in kindergarten, first and second grades 7 p.m. Sept. 9.
The open house for parents of students in third, fourth and fifth grades will be 7 p.m. Sept. 14.
The open houses are for parents only and no child care will be provided.
Salisbury High School will hold a photo day Sept. 9.
SMS will have a photo day Sept. 15.
Sept. 10 is the first HST T-shirt day. Let’s show off the Truman Leadership; this year’s shirt is beautiful!
Sept. 10 is also the SMS open house for parents beginning 6:45 p.m. The open house is also for parents only.
A school board meeting is scheduled 7:30 p.m. Sept. 16 in the administration building.
Sept. 18 will be an early dismissal for Salisbury Township schools. The middle and high schools will dismiss 12:45 p.m. and both elementary schools will dismiss 1 p.m.
The week of Sept. 21 both HST and WSE students will celebrate P.A.C.K. Week. Students are encouraged to pack a healthy snack each day matching the color announced. Look for more information to be sent home.
Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Eastern Salisbury is looking for bowlers for the church bowling league. This is the 52nd year. Bowlers ages 14 to 100 welcome. Bowling is 6:30 p.m. Monday nights at Mountainville Bowling Center. For more information, contact Ted at 610-865-3653.
The Franko Farm yard waste site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 8 and 12, as well as Sept. 22 and 26.
Boy Scouts with Troop 146 are holding a hoagie fundraiser. Choices are American or turkey hoagies and orders are due by 3 p.m. Sept. 9. To order or for more information, call Pat at 610-791-0983.
The HST PTO is holding a back-to-school dinner 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 18. This is a chance for students to show their families their school and their new friends. Parents will have the opportunity to learn about the many activities and events planned for the school year.
