St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 417 Howertown Road, will be holding its annual Applefest and craft fair 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12. The festival includes crafters, a bake sale, children’s games, food and entertainment by deejay Helmut Fried.

The first bingo of the fall season will be held at St. Mary’s Parish Center, Second and Union streets, starting at 1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 13. The kitchen will open at 11:30 a.m. to all for sit-in or take-out.

The Catasauqua Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., is having a bag sale through Saturday, Sept. 12. This sale includes everything in the store unless otherwise marked. The shop will be closed for housecleaning and change-over Sept. 14, 15 and 16 and will reopen Sept. 17 with new clothing for fall and winter. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday.
