My Sister’s Closet opens in Easton
A new My Sister’s Closet with 1,600 square feet of space has opened in Easton at 305 Village at Stones Crossing. My Sister’s Closet manager Chris Zweifel and Michelle Orr, vice president of My Sister’s Closet and Events, cut the ribbon for the new store’s opening July 28.
In 2014, the scope of My Sister’s Closet grew, says Orr.
“We continue to build relationships with the community and have increased the number of wonderful volunteers that give of their time on a weekly basis,” she said.
The organization’s annual report reveals a total of 1,609 hours were given to My Sister’s Closet by 39 volunteers. The nonprofit Truth for Women raises money for Truth Home and its other community -awareness education and mentoring services with the proceeds from its two My Sister’s Closet upscale resale boutiques and a variety of fundraisers. The boutiques fund the Truth for Women Center and its skills training for women in transition.
In Bethlehem, the 10-year-old My Sister’s Closet is right down the hall from Truth for Women Center’s offices at 3400 Bath Pike, Suite 100, the Park Plaza building.
“Everybody comes to My Sister’s Closet,” says Truth for Women’s President Kim Checkeye of the upscale boutique atmosphere and the reasonably priced racks full of designer clothes in sizes 0 to 4X. The store’s clothing, shoes and accessories are all donated. While donations, which must be in season, in style and in great shape, are accepted, My Sister’s Closet carefully selects boutique articles.
