Friendly Fifties group plans anniversary meeting

St. John’s Friendly Fifties will hold its 24th anniversary meeting at 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 14 in the church social hall, 1343 Newport Ave. The rosary will be prayed at 11:30 a.m. in the church. Lunch will be served. Mike Skweir will provide the music.

The Atlas Cement Company Memorial Museum will be open the second and fourth Sunday in September, 1-3 p.m.

The museum is located in the Northampton Borough Municipal Building, 1401 Laubach Ave.

The Northampton AARP meeting will be held Wednesday, Sept. 9 at the Northampton Memorial Community Center, 1601 Laubach Ave. Doors open at noon. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided. If interested in any trips, call Sharon at 610-262-9182.

The cenacle to the Divine Mercy of Queenship of Mary Church is offering a one-day trip to Stockbridge, Mass., on Wednesday, Oct. 7. The trip to the National Shrine of Divine Mercy on Eden Hill will leave at 7 a.m. from St. Joe’s parking lot on Canal Street and return at approximately 9:30 p.m. the same day. The fee includes the trip and lunch. A stop will be made for dinner in Massachusetts. For cost and other information, contact Fran at 610-262-1663 or Stacy at 610-704-2615.

Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1904 Main St., will hold its annual basket social 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 11 and 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12 in the church basement. There are more than 350 items to be raffled off, so there will be something for everyone. The drawing will take place at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. You don’t need to be present to win. The kitchen will also be open the same hours for food and beverages. The basket social benefits the Northampton Area Food Bank and the church.
