BASD names three B.E.S.T.

Three Bethlehem Area School District teachers have received the Bethlehem Area Scholastic Trust awards at a convocation on Aug. 26 at Liberty HS They are Peter Bertelan, industrial arts teacher at Nitschmann MS; Lawrence Glueck, a history teacher at Liberty HS; and Lucinda Nabavian, learning suppor teacher at Thomas Jefferson E.S.

The recipients were given a certificate and a monetary award.

The B.E.S.T., the idea of which began 10 years ago, is a component fund of the L.V. Community Foundation.

Lebanon Valley College

Bethlehem residents Christa Abert and Da’Ron Strickland, high-achieving first-year students at Lebanon Valley College, have received scholarships from the college. Abert plans to study mathematics and Strickland plans to study engineering.
