It’s that time of year. It’s almost back to school time. I know. My daughter anxiously awaited her letter to see who her teacher was. It’s all a matter of time now.

There will be an orientation day for those going to kindergarten, first, sixth and ninth grades Aug. 31. For the students going to Harry S Truman Elementary School, there will be a Truman staff member on each bus to welcome students. A school staff member also will be on the bus for the ride home. Parents of kindergarten students will have the opportunity to meet with building staff and teachers at an information session in the gym at HST 8:50 to 10:15 a.m.

All Salisbury students will report to school Sept. 1.

A friendly reminder: All Salisbury Township schools will be closed Sept. 4 to 7 for the Labor Day holiday.

The HST open house nights are as follows: kindergarten, first and second grades 7 p.m. Sept. 9; third, fourth and fifth grades 7 p.m. Sept. 14.

The Salisbury Athletic Booster Club is holding its annual clothing sale. For more information, visit stsd.org and click the news tab. The deadline to order is Sept. 15.

The boys and girls soccer teams are selling spirit cards. The cards offer many local discounts. Contact a soccer player for purchase.

There will be a curriculum and technology committee meeting 7 p.m. Aug. 31 in the administration building, 1140 Salisbury Road.

There will be an operations committee meeting 7 p.m. Sept. 9 at Salisbury Middle School.

The Franko Farm Yard Waste drop-off site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 8 and 12.

Looking ahead, save the date! The Eastern Salisbury Fire Department will host a community day noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 10.
