Roby C. Reitz, 87, formerly of Schnecksville, died Aug. 21, 2015, in Luther Crest Health Center, South Whitehall, where she had been residing.

She was the wife of the late Nevin W. Reitz with whom she co-owned and operated their family potato farm.

Born Dec. 14, 1927, in Fountain Hill, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Mabel A. (Achenbach) Heimer.

A 1945 graduate of Nazareth Area High School, and a 1949 graduate of Temple University, she was a home economics teacher for 33 years in the Parkland School District before retiring in 1985.

Before teaching, she was a Penn State Extension Home Economist in Schuylkill County.

She was a member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, and a former member of Hope UCC, Wind Gap.

She was a former member of Schnecksville Grange 1684.

Her survivors include children, Robert N. and his wife, Carol, of Colmar, Janet K. Hopkins of Warrington, Linda E. Brown and her husband, Donald, of McKinney, Texas, Mary Alice Waltz and her husband, Gene, of Shillington, Ann R. Coldren and her husband, Temple, of Coopersburg; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Clark Hopkins.

Her memorial service will be 10 a.m. Aug. 29, at Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5500 Route 873, Schnecksville, with the Rev. Dennis W. Moore officiating.

Visitation period is 9–10 a.m. Saturday in the church narthex.
