As the climate slowly begins to change, Jann Eline presents the timely program “Getting Plants Ready for Winter” for Catasauqua Garden Club’s September meeting. New plants or old standards, this should help all gardeners get their favorites flowers and plants ready for the soon-to-be cold weather and shorter days.

The meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2 at the Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua. Artistic design and horticulture exhibits should be set up early enough for the meeting to start on time. Garden-friendly visitors are always welcome!

A bingo event will be held at St. Mary’s Parish Center, Second and Union streets in Catasauqua, starting at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13.

The kitchen will be open to all for sit-in or take-out. For more information, call 610-264-0332. The event is sponsored by the Assembled Men. of St. Mary’s.
