Wallace “Wally” M. Long Jr., 84, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 12, 2015, at Moravian Village of Bethlehem. Born in Hamburg, he was a son of the late Wallace M. Sr. and Edna V. (Sunday) Long. He was the husband of Mae K. Long of Bethlehem and the companion of Betty Ann Gerlach of Salisbury Township.
He was a 1948 graduate of Hamburg HS, Class of 1948.
He was in the U.S. Army in France and Germany during the Korean War.
He was a funeral director for 60 years and was the former owner of the Long Funeral Home of Bethlehem and Oley.
He was a member of Central Moravian Church, Bethlehem.
He was on the board of directors of the former Keystone Savings and Loan and of Saucon Mutual Insurance Company. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Bethlehem Lodge #283 Free and Accepted Masons, and of the Rajah Temple Shrine. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lions Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his companion of 34 years, Betty Ann; a son, Michael and his wife, Terri of Bethlehem Township; a daughter, Michele and her husband Dale Graffis of Hanover Township; and four grandchildren, Meghan Long, Tyler Long, Andrew Graffis and Douglas and his wife Shelley Long and their daughters, Hallie and Maisie.
He was predeceased by a sister, Betty Henne and her late husband Clifford Henne; and a grandson, Derek Graffis.
