YWCA to honor locals for service Local officials proclaim Aug. 20 as YWCA of Bethlehem Day

Lehigh County Executive Tom Muller will attend the YWCA's 88th Annual Meeting Aug. 20 at the Hotel Bethlehem and present proclamations announcing August 20, 2015 as YWCA Day in Bethlehem, Allentown, Northampton and Lehigh counties.

Larry Holmes will be the keynote speaker at the YWCA's 88th Annual Meeting. Frances Hesselbein will be a special guest.

In the proclamation, Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski extends congratulations to the YWCA of Bethlehem in observance of this milestone 88th Anniversary. Pawlowski proclaims Aug. 20 as YWCA of Bethlehem Appreciation Day in Allentown.

John A. Brown, Northampton County executive, proclaimed Aug. 20 as YWCA Bethlehem Day in Northampton County.

Easton Mayor Sal Panto will attend the YWCA of Bethlehem's Annual Meeting and present proclamations to Holmes and Hesselbein. These two Easton residents are famous worldwide.

Amy Koch of Health Network Laboratories will receive the Volunteer of the Year Award. Stacey Zaremba, professor at Moravian College, will receive the Racial Justice Award. Michael O'Rourke, publisher of Lehigh Valley Business, will receive the Women's Empowerment Award - the first time the women's empowerment Award is being give to a male. Stephanie Hnatiw, the YWCA's executive director, will receive the Staff Service Award for 10 years of service to the YWCA.
