Officers arrested a man for retail theft of items valuing $187.91 at Staples on West Union Boulevard at 6 p.m. Aug. 2. Witnesses saw him opening or removing 22 items from their packaging and using them in the copy machine area of the store.

Bradley McGowan, 50, of High Street, was charged with retail theft.
