Melba M. Knecht, 101, of Mac-ungie, formerly of South Whitehall Township, died Aug. 11, 2015, in Lehigh Commons.
She was the wife of the late Howard L. Knecht.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Lovie (Roth) Nonnemaker.
She and her husband met while working at a purse factory in Allentown. She also worked part time for Dorney Park.
She enjoyed baking, gardening and taking care of her African violets and her cat, Blue Eyes.
She was a member of Cedar Lutheran Church, Cetronia.
Her survivors include sons, Edwin and his wife, June; Robert and his wife, Patricia; brother William and his wife, Shirley; five grandchildren Denise, wife of Michael Follweiler, Dennis and his wife, Krista, Mark and his wife, Michelle, Theresa and her husband, Robert Nolen, and Thomas; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister, Frances, and two great-great-granddaughters.
Her service will be 1:30 p.m. Aug. 18, at Cedar Lutheran Church, 3419 Broadway, Allentown.
A calling hour will begin 12:30 p.m. in the church.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory may be made to the church.
