H. Davis Weaver Saucon Valley HS
Editor's note: Photo was not available.
Grade: Graduated
Family members: Kent and Julie Weaver (parents), Brendan, Kent, Timothy and Samuel (brothers)
Favorite subject: Chemistry and world cultures. I love chemistry because it allowed me to view the world in an entirely different perspective and I love world cultures because learning about other cultures and peoples is my academic passion.
Activities: Cross country, tennis, musicals, co-founder of SVHS Mini-THON, president of SVHS UNICEF Club, treasurer of Model U.N., Select Choir member, and vice president of Angel 34 Foundation
Next steps: Attend a four-year university, later attend medical school in hopes of becoming a traveling, singing doctor, and eventually adopt tons of international kids
Career goals: Become a pediatric hematologist/oncologist, join "Doctors Without Borders," travel to third world countries and help kids receive the necessary medical treatment they deserve. Eventually become a member of WHO; and somehow make it to Broadway one day.
Heroes: My grandma because she never stopped fighting and she was so brave, and accepted all of her grandchildren into open arms even though we all messed up every now and again. The disease may have caused her to forget, but she will never be forgotten.
Hobbies: Singing and acting; also binge watching musicals on YouTube and TV series on Netflix
Current job(s): Landscaper at an eco-friendly vineyard called Black River Farms
Volunteer/community work: Cantor at Assumption B.V.M., vice president of Angel 34 Foundation, president of UNICEF Club, co-founder of SVHS Mini-THON, Relay for Life, tutor, volunteer Party Parent in PYB's The Nutcracker, and the SVHS Panther
Likes: Helping others as much as I possibly can
Dislikes: When people try to be something they're not. I know it's hard, but don't let someone else's opinions alter your personal perception. As one of my close friends likes to say, "You do you and don't let anyone change who you are."
Greatest accomplishment (so far): International Video Competition winner, Freddy Awards nominee, NYU Steinhardt Musical Theater summer program, SVHS Mini-THON, and finally allowing myself to just be Davis.
Advice for peers: Do not let senior year pass you by. Go crazy, have fun, but be safe. Allow your classmates to see the real you and don't let what anyone else thinks affect you personally. There's only one year left; might as well make the most of it. And shoulders out, head down, mom walk and don't make eye contact in the hallways.
