Christ's Church at Lowhill Food Pantry is asking local farmers and garden enthusiasts with a surplus of fresh fruit and vegetables to donate items in good condition.

The pantry needs cereal, canned tuna fish, jelly, peanut butter, tea bags, coffee, bathroom cleaner, toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, dish soap, and laundry detergent.

For the start of school, backpacks, pencil pouches, regular and colored pencils, markers, crayons, glue sticks, binders and tab dividers are needed.

Supplies may be dropped off at both branches of New Tripoli Bank and at Essa Bank, or during donation days at the pantry.

The food panty serves qualifying families from 9-11 a.m. on the first Saturday of the month and from 4-6:30 p.m. the third Thursday. Senior citizens are served 10 a.m.-noon the prior Wednesday.

Do not drop off donations at the door as the facility is not always staffed.

The Blessings Shop distributes clothing, toys, household items. The shop is open the same hours as the food pantry.
