Anthony Bonales
Anthony Bonales, 95, formerly of Fogelsville, died Aug. 9, 2015, in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall.
He was the husband of the late Louise Marie (Pollio) Bonales.
Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Anthony and Martha (Acin) Bonales.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, and, in addition to his duties, he entertained troops as a jazz band drummer.
A mechanical engineer at Western Electric in Kearny, N.J., for 37 years, he retired in 1978.
He continued his passion for music by playing in numerous jazz ensembles in New York, New Jersey and Florida.
He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield.
His engaging smile, quick wit and kind manner will be missed by all who knew him.
His survivors include a daughter Jean L. Federici and her husband, Raymond, of Orefield; son Robert A. and his wife, Anne, of Wyckoff, N.J.; and grandchildren Brian Federici, Jaclyn Grynaviski and Valerie Bonales.
He was predeceased by a brother Joseph.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Aug. 13, at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield, with the Rev. Msgr. Robert J. Wargo as celebrant. Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday in Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Interment, with military honors, will follow the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery, Wescosville.
