Girls have top-three finishes in 16 events

Northwest Swim Club won the ABE Swim Championships on July 25.

"It was a pretty good summer for us," said Northwest swimmer, Jocelyn Baker.

The girls' team had top three finishes in 16 events, competing against teams from Stones Crossing, Brookside, Lehigh, Saucon Valley, Trident, Stonecrest, and Westwood Heights.

Lydia Csatari, Chloe Kobus, Jocelyn Baker, and Maggie Walters won the 13&Over 200 medley relay in 2:17.37.

Baker also placed second in the 15-18 100 free in 1:04.59, and Walters was third in 1:07 78. Csatari came in second in the 15-18 50 backstroke in 36.22, and Kobus took first place in the 15-18 50 breaststroke in 38.67. Baker then placed third in the 15-18 100 IM in 1:17.17.

Baker's sister, Jaclyn, took third place in the 13-14 50 breaststroke in 39.70.

"The older kids swam in the morning, so we tried to rack up as many points as we could to get more for the little kids," said Jocelyn Baker.

The next event was the 200 free relay, ages 6-18, and Helena Lynn, Elizabeth Flynn, Maggie Walters, Greta Stuckey, and Alyvia Herman placed second in 2:12.83.

Charlotte Samuelson, Hallie Smith, Flynn, and Madison Drager finished the 12&Under 200 medley relay in third place in 2:36.75.

Lynn came in third in the 8&Under 25 free in 20.01, and Smith was third in the 11-12 50 breaststroke in 43.75.

Samuelson took first place in the 11-12 100 IM in 1:25.78, third in the 11-12 50 butterfly in 36.92, and third in the 11-12 50 backstroke in 39.78.

Flynn had three third place finishes in the 8&Under age group, swimming the 25 fly in 20.90, the 25 backstroke in 25.98, and the 25 breaststroke in 26.43.
