Liberty's West latest Bethlehem product in NFL training camp

Liberty graduate Jarrod West signed with the New York Jets on Sunday and took part in the team's training camp practice that afternoon.

West, who was a 2009 first team, all-state selection for the Hurricanes as a wide receiver, is an undrafted rookie who is now the 14th wide receiver on the Jets 90-man camp roster.

He took part in the Jets rookie mini camp back in May and signed with the team after they waived fullback J.C. Copeland last Saturday.

West, who measures at 6-foot-3, 212 pounds, had 49 catches for 700 yards last season at Syracuse.

He joins a list of three other Bethlehem products that are currently in NFL camps.

Liberty's Devin Street is now in his second-year with the Dallas Cowboys after being drafted by the team in 2014.

Initial reports out of Dallas are that Street looks much better than a year ago and has had a strong start to camp.

He also helped break up Dez Bryant's fight with defensive back Tyler Patmon on Sunday.

Freedom grad Mike Coccia is an undrafted rookie in Eagles camp. The New Hampshire offensive lineman is battling for a backup center spot.

Bethlehem Catholic's Tevrin Brandon is in camp with the Denver Broncos. The defensive back went undrafted last year, but had tryouts with the Chiefs and Jets.

He played in the Fall Experimental Football League for the Brooklyn Bolts last season.
