The Bethlehem Landfill announced July 9 that they awarded $11,000 in college scholarships to local high school graduates.

The 11 recipients graduated from Freedom, Liberty, Saucon Valley and Southern Lehigh High Schools and have all been accepted into environmental science or engineering programs at their selected colleges. The Landfill was unable to release the names of these students.

Each student will be receiving $1,000. The Bethlehem Landfill has awarded more than $100,000 in funds over the 15 consecutive years they have offered scholarships.
