Samuel J. Schrantz, 73, of Allen Township, died July 15, 2015, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Samuel M. and the late Esther (Stout) Schrantz. He was the husband of Jane (Smale) Schrantz for 41 years.

He was a private first class in the Marine Corps Reserves.

He was a machinist for the former Bethlehem Steel for 30 years. He was with the Howertown Rose Nursery, Allen Township, for his entire life.

He was a member of the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association and a life member of the Whirl & Twirl Square Dance Club, Orlando, Fla.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Scott and his wife Rebecca of Wake Forest, N.C.; a daughter, Jeanine and her husband Todd Siegfried of Bethlehem; a brother, James R. and his wife Sharon Schrantz of Northampton; a sister, Joan and her husband Larry Newhard of Northampton; two grandsons, Jason and Ryan Siegfried.
