Richard V.C. Carr, 68, of Allentown, died July 18, 2015, in Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia.

Born in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of the late Dr. Robert V.C. and Grace (McLaughlin) Carr.

He graduated from Case Western Reserve University and received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.

He was an industrial chemist at Air Products until he retired in 2008.

His survivors include a daughter Daphne G.A. Carr of Brooklyn, N.Y.; sisters Laura Korn and husband, Bryant, of Houston, Texas, and Sherry Carr of Glenside; and nephew Jason Carr.

His memorial service will be 11 a.m. July 25 at Keller Funeral Homes Inc., 1018 Church St., Fogelsville.

Visitation will be from 10:30-11 a.m. Interment will be private.
