Nancy L. Daley

Nancy L. Daley, 90, from Allentown, died on July 17, 2015, in her home.

Born and raised in York, she was a daughter of the late Harry R. and Mary (Free) Lenker.

She met "Hank," the late Henry F. Daley Jr., her husband of 61 years, at Pennsylvania State University.

A graduate in the arts, she shared her creative talents over the years throughout the Lehigh Valley.

Her passion for horticulture extended from her own backyard to procuring notable gardens for tours offered by the Allentown Garden Club, where she served in various capacities, including vice president.

She also was active in the Allentown Art Museum Auxiliary and AAUW, leading book drives with her colorful book collection barrels.

She recruited volunteers and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years, was a long-standing Republican Committee Woman and member of Nativity Lutheran Church, Allentown.

She loved hostessing in her home, listening to opera, painting Easter eggs with her grandchildren, and picking out names for her beagles.

Her survivors include daughters Julia and her husband, Dr. Joseph Anisko, Ann Bermingham; Margery Daley and her husband, Lewis White, Mary and her husband, Steve Hensler; sister Harriett Adams; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son, David, in 1961, and a sister, Mary Louise Jenkins, in 2008.

Her memorial service will be 4 p.m. July 25, at Nativity Lutheran Church, 4004 Tilghman St., Allentown.

There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory may be made to the ASPCA, 424 E. 92nd St, New York, NY 10128
