Since July 2014, he has been serving as a patrol officer for the Borough of Fountain Hill.

Beaumont, who lives in Nazareth, will be assigned to a Field Training Officer for a 13-week program.

Doherty, 23, a graduate of Emmaus High School, earned a Bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Marywood University in 2014.

He has been an active member of the U.S. Army National Guard since 2011.

Doherty, who resides in Wescosville, will be receiving the required Act 120 certification training as a member of the 97th class of the Allentown Police Academy, which meets through Dec. 4.
