Theodore J. Rohr Sr.

Theodore J. Rohr, Sr., 94, of Orefield, died on June 28, 2015, in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, South Whitehall.

He was the husband of the late Jean K. (Kocher) Rohr.

Born March 26, 1921, in Best Station, Washington Township, he was the son of the late Harvey J. and Lillie M. (Rupp) Rohr.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart Medal.

A chemical engineer at the former Trojan Powder Co., South Whitehall Township, for 44 years before retiring, he was a 1939 graduate of the former South Whitehall High School.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Ziegels Union Church, Breinigsville.

A former volunteer at the Cetronia Ambulance Corps and Tri-Clover Fire Co., he also formerly served as Assistant Scout Leader of Boy Scout Troop 57, Neffs.

He was an Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow.

His survivors include children Theodore J. Jr. and his companion, Louise J. Rabenold, of Coplay, Linda M., wife of Ronald L. Bogert Sr., of Orefield, Barbara J., wife of Dale F. Baumann, of Cetronia, Ruth D., wife of Gary P. Geiger, of Allentown; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by brothers Henry T. and Arthur E.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. July 2, in Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, with the Rev. Candi L. Cain-Borgman officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Interment with military honors will follow the service at Ziegels Union Cemetery, Breinigsville.
