A Hellertown resident suspected that he was the victim of a scam June 22 after money was taken out of his bank account and wired to China.
He alleged that he was contacted by a man claiming to be with Microsoft who was conducting an update on his computer. He provided his debit and credit card numbers over the phone and later found that $2,000 was removed from his account. The incident is still under investigation.
Lower Saucon Township Police warn residents never to provide personal or bank information over the phone.
