Six local high school soccer players recently competed and won the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Programs Region 1 Tournament. US Youth Soccer ODP is the original Olympic Development Program and the only elite player development program that can claim members of Major League Soccer, as well as a majority of current and past national and youth team members, as alumni. These boys are local athletes competing at a very high national level. The team was undefeated in the tournament which was held over two separate weekends and beat teams, from NY, Western PA, VA and MA. The six boys are teammates on the Eastern PA State Youth Association ODP team and all play for local club Lehigh Valley United. Each player also plays for various high schools in our area. The six players are from left to right: Jake Stengel, MF, Parkland; Tyler Madeira, MF, Parkland; Tanner Shane, MF, Moravian Academy; Pierre Reedy, F, Kutztown; Colin Muller, MF, Liberty and John Eltringham, goalie; Freedom.
