Hope everyone is having a fun and relaxing summer. The weather has been fairly cooperative so far. Let's hope it stays that way.
The summer playground program continues through July 24. Township children who have completed kindergarten through age 12 are eligible to participate. Program hours are 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday and 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evenings at Green Acres, Lindberg, Devonshire and Laubach parks.
The Allentown Library van will be making its rounds July 10. Books can be returned to the van at the next visit, the Allentown library or the Salisbury Township building.
The township will hold movie nights July 13 at Laubach Park and July 15 at Green Acres Park. Both screenings start 8 p.m. "Paddington" is the featured film.
The Franko Farm yard waste drop-off site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 7 and July 11.
Salisbury Township School District summer library will be held 9 to 11 a.m. July 7 and 14 at Salisbury High School.
At the curriculum meeting June 17, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning Lynn Fuini-Hetten announced a number of community workshops being offered by the district at no charge to residents.
A positive parenting workshop will be offered 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 16 at Western Salisbury Jerusalem Church, 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown, facilitated by Denise Continenza, Penn State Extension.
Two other parenting workshops by Continenza will be offered: 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5, "What Makes My Child Tick" and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 18, "Lend Me Your Ear," both at Western Salisbury Jerusalem Church.
A community workshop on social media will be offered 9 to 11 a.m. July 28 at the administration building.
