Joyce Burley Sterner

Joyce Burley Sterner, 89, formerly of Fullerton, died peacefully June 20, 2015, in Fellowship Manor, where she was a guest since 2009.

The widow of Norman R. Sterner, who died in 1993, she was born in Allentown to the late Raymond C. and Maude (Saul) Peters.

A longtime member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Fullerton, she was a mainstay in the church kitchen for more than 30 years, and enjoyed being a member of the quilters.

She served as an election registrar in her voting district in Whitehall for many years.

Her survivors include daughter Jane Lamm and her husband, Jeffrey, of Emmaus; son Ronald and his wife Rosalie of Whitehall; grandchildren Eric Lamm and his wife, Laura, of Macungie, Matthew Lamm of Morristown, N.J., and Stephanie Morcom and her husband, Keith, of Breinigsville; great-granddaughters Ava Rose, Charlotte Grace and Harper Jane; and sister June Marshall of Allentown.

She was predeceased by her sister Gloria Hodson and brother Lloyd Peters.

Her services will be at 10 a.m. June 25, in St. John's UCC, Fullerton, 575 Grape St., Whitehall, with the Rev. George R. Eckstein officiating.

Visitation with her family will begin 9 a.m. in the church parlor.

Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.

Contributions may be made to the church Field of Dreams Fund.
