Studio 5678 celebrates 10 years

This year Studio 5678, a local dance studio in Coplay, is celebrating its 10th year under the ownership of Janet Keppel.

The studio will be celebrating this milestone on June 20 at Catasauqua High School with its annual recital performance.

Originally named Marianne's School of Dance, the studio opened in 1967 by Marianne Kocher. Currently, the studio offers a well-rounded selection of dance classes, including pointe, ballet, modern, lyrical, tap, jazz, hip hop and combination classes for age levels starting at 3 years old.

Along with regular classes, the school offers an opportunity to be part of an award-winning competition ensemble. The students compete in group and solo dance routines at regional competitions throughout Pennsylvania. They attended the Lehigh Valley Dance Challenge, Groove and Dancers Inc. this past season.

"I am extremely proud of our dancers for their amazing talent, drive for improvement and dedication to our studio. Nothing makes me happier then to see them perform on stage, bringing our choreography to life with smiles and passion," Keppel said.

Studio 5678 is now accepting registrations for its summer dance classes/camps and the 2015-16 dance season.
