A class of 2016 economics major at the university, he and 25 other students explored the political division between the Turkish-Cypriot Republic of Northern Cyprus and the Greek-Cypriot Republic of Cyprus, and how those identities are often reflected in the foods people eat.
The participants attended a cooking class designed to compare and contrast the different cultures of Greek Cyprus and Turkish Cyprus. The time included several day trips to both the northern and southern parts of the island, including mountain villages, castles, and a nature reserve on the Akamas peninsula.
