A group of Coplay residents recently discussed over breakfast recently how secure the Coplay Police Department station is.
The topic arose in the aftermath of an incident early Saturday when a crazed man fired shots at a Dallas, Texas, police station.
Don't worry: The borough police station, located in the municipal building, is secure. Access to the police station is highly monitored, and personnel can see who is seeking entry.
Just a few weeks back, the borough's municipal office became slightly more secure. A small foyer was constructed. There is now a glass-type partition, with open slots, that allows for dialogue and an exchange of materials and paperwork. There are surveillance cameras, with monitors, at the municipal complex. The parkway also has cameras.
The Northampton and Whitehall police stations are also secure, preventing access to areas throughout the station.
