Ann T. Tremblay

Ann T. Tremblay, 87, of Whitehall, died peacefully June 5, 2015, in Fellowship Community, Whitehall.

Born in Arlington, Va., she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Grace (Shotwell) Tanner.

She and her husband J. Evariste "Ev" Tremblay were married 48 years until his death in 1997.

She graduated from Washington Lee High School in 1945.

A member of The First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua, she was an active member of Presbyterian Women at the church, conducted pre-school eye screening, worked at the polls on election days, and was a dedicated charter member of the Whitehall Women's Club for decades.

She was an avid bridge player for more than 50 years, doted on all her grandkids and loved a dry martini, especially while vacationing with her family on Long Beach Island.

Her survivors include sons John and wife Marguerite "Micki" of Allentown, William "Bill" and wife Eileen of Coplay, James "Jim" and wife Cherylann of Saugus, Mass., Steven and wife Sandra "Sandy" of Alburtis, Robert "Bob" and wife Jane of Chelmsford, Mass., and daughter Jeanne (Dorney) Chapkovich and husband, Kevin, of Emmaus; grandchildren, Andrew Smicker, John Clark, Jason, Jessica, Joshua, Lucas and Sarah Tremblay, and born May 30, great-grandchild William "Liam" Michael Smicker; brother Jesse Tanner of Vienna, Va., sister Merle (Tanner) Kelton of Kilmarnock, Va.; and many nieces and nephew.

She was predeceased by sisters Betty Hall and Edna Kendall, both of Virginia.

Her service will be at 11:30 a.m. June 11, in Gilbert Funeral Home, 444 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall,with the Rev. Joyce W. Smothers officiating.

The family will receive friends 10:30 a.m. Thursday until the service.

Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park, Whitehall.
