WESTERN SALISBURY COLUMN Summer library open June 23

No more pencils, no more books……Woo Hoo, summer is here.

Summer library hours for the district will all be held at Salisbury High School this year. Books from the elementary and middle schools will be transported to the high school to be signed out by students. The librarians from the different buildings will take turns overseeing checkouts.

The first library day will be 9 to 11 a.m. June 23 hosted by Jane Brennan.

The Salisbury summer playground program runs June 17 through July 24, 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. Evening hours are 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays. This program is available for township children who have finished kindergarten through age 12. For more information and to print a registration form go to the Salisbury Township website www.salisburytownshippa.org. Forms will be available at each park and a form is required for each child.

Salisbury Youth Association is conducting fall baseball registration 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 13 at Franko Park. There will be two different programs running this year. An in-house, skill building league and a more competitive league are both available for biddy, midget and knee hi levels. For more information visit www.syasports.net.

There is a curriculum committee meeting 7 p.m. June 17 at the administration building which will be followed by a school board meeting 7:30 p.m.

Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church will host the monthly breakfast 8 to 11 a.m. June 13. A donation is suggested. All proceeds benefit the 275th anniversary celebration.

The Devonshire yard waste drop-off will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 16 and 20.
