Walter L. Leiss, 88, a 61 year former resident of Bethlehem, died May 24, 2015, at Chandler Hall Retirement Community, Newtown. Born in Lebanon, he was a son of the late Robert D. and Carrie (Sherman) Leiss. He was the husband of the late Joanne M. (Snyder) Leiss for 63 years.

He was in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and later the Air Force.

He graduated with a business degree from Muhlenberg College.

He was an administrative management executive with Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 31 years until he retired in 1982.

He was a member of Christ Church U.C.C., Bethlehem, where he was a consistory president and a volunteer for church activites.

He was active with the Jaycees.

He is survived by three daughters, Debbie and her husband Dave Ferry, Karen Leiss Spinner and her partner Jim Coyle, and Linda and her husband Jeff Anderson; and two grandchildren, Melissa and Christopher Ferry.
