Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, invites children ages 3 through fifth grade to Vacation Bible School from 6-8 p.m. June 28 to July 2.

The program this year is "Everest: Where Kids Learn to Conquer Challenges with God's Mighty Power."

Assistant to the pastor, Cathy Shaffer, reports each evening begins with a free dinner 5:30 p.m. for all children, parents and volunteers participating in VBS.

The kid-friendly menu includes not only an entree such as chicken strips, hot dogs, spaghetti, stromboli or a grilled cheese sandwich, but also beverages, salad bar, applesauce and fruit.

All children will be grouped by grade level.

While young people are at their classes, parents and any other visitors are welcome to attend special adult VBS classes.

Each evening, the adults will discuss the same topics and Bible verses used in the children's sessions.

Before leaving for home, everyone will join together for music and closing.

VBS is free for everyone. Register byJune 15.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, welcomes the singing duo, Alathea, to the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services June 7.

Everyone is invited to a picnic in the grove, featuring a build-your-own ice cream sundae with a wide choice of toppingsfrom 11:30 a.m.to 1:30 p.m..

Kids can have fun with face painting, a moon bounce and rock wall.

The theme for the day is "Building Our Future, One Sundae at a Time."

St. John's United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will have worship services at 9 a.m. for the summer beginning June 7.

Vacation Bible School's theme for this year is "G Force: Move, Act, Care, Follow, Share." The program runs from 9 a.m. to noon June 22-26.

VBS is for children ages 4 to those entering sixth grade. Toddlers, age 3, are invited if a parent remains with them.

There is no fee to attend but registration ahead of time is appreciated.

The June 26 session will be followed by a picnic lunch for children and parents.

On June 28, children will share VBS joys with the congregation at the worship service.
