More important than winning

I am blessed to have had the honor and privilege to serve the people of Bethlehem on City Council. Although the results of the election have not yet been certified, it is clear that the final results will not be in my favor.

While the election was only decided by a handful of votes, I don't believe that an appeal or recount would best serve the interests of Bethlehem or the integrity of the electoral process. For that reason, I graciously offer both my concession and my assistance to help transition the new members of Council.

I am proud of what I have been able to achieve during my time on City Council. In every area - from economic redevelopment, to city finances, to public safety, I believe I have written or supported laws and initiatives that have made Bethlehem a better place. For that I have no regrets.

Although my time on City Council will end next year, there is still much I want to accomplish for Bethlehem. Public service is part of who I am, and I plan to continue advocating for my community and volunteering my time to public and private organizations after my term concludes.

I love the City of Bethlehem. It is my home and it is where I chose to start my family. I would have preferred another term, but I believe that in some way I have done my part to leave Bethlehem a better place for future generations. In the end, that's more important to me than winning an election.
