The New Occupant

Tweeting her sweet trills

She is a most welcome newcomer to the neighborhood

While she remains only a brief season

She is a delight to our ears, tiny as she is

Arriving in May

She searches out housing

Though other older residents may object to her presence

She builds a nest where comfortable

Then prepares for the emergence of her brood

She sings ecstatically as her little ones are hatched

But by August, Jenny and her fledgling wrens will be gone
