The Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley partnered recently with the L.V. Phantoms, Giant Food and Easton Area School District in food drives to feed Lehigh Valley children.

The center's global youth service day collected more than 2,000 pounds of food, or 2,400 meals, through food drives conducted at the L. V. Phantoms and in the Easton Area School District. Giant Food donated $500 to match the collection hosted at the Phantoms game.

Food was distributed to Safe Harbor shelter, Easton Area Neighborhood Center and Easton Area Community Center, all in Easton; and to Second Harvest in Allentown
