Upper Macungie Police Beat

Driver charged

for possession

Police say William G. Quier III, 22, of Mertztown, was stopped along Route 100 near Weilers Road, Upper Macungie, around 1:30 p.m. May 8, for alleged traffic-related violations.

Police say Quier was allegedly in possession of illegal narcotics and related paraphernalia.

Charges were filed before District Judge Michael Faulkner, Upper Macungie.

Laptop stolen

from home

Jeffery Dommel, 7800 block Red Hawk Court, Breinigsville, reported to police his laptop was stolen sometime between 12:30 p.m. on May 10 and 8:30 a.m. May 12, from his home.

Driver avoids deer;

vehicle hits tree

Upper Macungie police say Kyle Schler, 20, of Allentown, was driving along Bastian Lane, just north of Fire Road, Upper Macungie, at 11:15 p.m. May 15, when he attempted to avoid hitting a deer crossing the road.

Police say Schler apparently lost control of his vehicle, which then struck a tree head on.

Schler was uninjured, police say.
