Three Parkland athletes competed in last weekend's PIAA Track and Field Championship Meet, held each year at Shippensburg University's Seth Grove Stadium on the Friday and Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend.
Javelin thrower Derek Ziegenfuss made it to states as the No. 3 seed after placing third at districts with a throw of 201 feet, 9 inches. He threw 168-2 at states for 13th place in Class AAA.
Zachary Trexler was seeded 22nd in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 40.68 from districts. He ran a 41.29 at states for 18th place.
Mid-distance runner Devyn Anderson competed at states in the 800-meter run. She was seeded 23rd after running a 2:22.33 at districts She placed 20th overall at states with a time of 2:24.73.
