Elden E. Werley

Elden E. Werley, 79, of Palm Bay, Fla., formerly of Slatington, died April 23, 2015, in Homes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne, Fla.

He was the husband of the late Edna M. (Gildner) Werley.

Born April 27, 1935, in Neffs, he was the son of the late Emory V. and Leah E. (Deibert) Werley.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during a peacetime era.

He was a truck driver for Teamsters Union Local 773, Allentown, for 34 years before retiring.

He was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Slatington.

An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish as well as traveling throughout the United States in his RV.

His survivors include a daughter Natalie E. Lakatosh with whom he resided; son Brian E. Werley and his wife, Danielle, of Melbourne, Fla.; brother Reuben G. Werley of McNeal, Ariz.; grandchildren, Leah M. Lakatosh, Dale A. Lakatosh III, Harley D. Werley, and Briana M. Werley; and greatgranddaughter, Emma J. Werley.

His graveside service will be 10 a.m. June 6, at Union Cemetery, Slatington.

The Rev. Lunnett M. Hilliard will be officiating. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church memorial fund c/o the funeral home, P.O. Box 196, Schnecksville, PA 18078-0196.
