Rausroppe! rausziehe!

Des wieschderli Graut!

Des hot mir mei ganzer Gaarde versaut.

Do schtreng ich der Buckel,

Un schwitz noch dazu.

Fer schee Gaarde halde, grickt mir ken Ruh.

Umleitliche Bledder,

Sie glitze vun Hand!

Odders Watzle brecht ab, graad wie es kann!

So widderlich Umgraut!

So schtowwerich Schteck!

Verfluchdichni Blanse, zum Deiwel geh weck!

Pulling Weeds

Pick out pull out

These nasty weeds

They have spoiled my whole garden

I strain my back

And sweat while working

Just try and keep a nice garden,

there's no rest.

Miserable leaves

Slip from your hand

Or the root breaks off wherever it can.

Such blasted weeds

Such stubborn plants

Cursed plants, be off to the devil
