Volunteer opportunities

·Girls on the Run of Lehigh County, Allentown, needs volunteers for their 5K Run May 28 in the Lehigh Parkway. Assist with course set-up, parking, refreshments and more. Running buddies, adults ages 18 and older, are needed to be paired with a Girl on the Run to help her through the 5K. Must be able to run or jog 3.1 miles. Times are 4:30 p.m. for volunteers and 5:15 p.m. for running buddies.

·Historic Bethlehem Museums and Sites needs volunteers for special access to the "Rooms to View" Home and Garden Tour 9 a.m.-1 p.m. or 12:30-4:30 p.m. June 6. Volunteers interact with visitors who come to tour the homes and are able to enjoy the tour for free on the same day.

·Kirkland Village, Bethlehem, is looking for a volunteer who is knowledgeable in Qui Gong Tai Chi to run a video for the class and help individuals where needed. Classes are 3:15 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. Volunteer for one or both classes.

·New Bethany Ministries, Bethlehem, seeks a volunteer to serve as receptionist to welcome visitors, clients and residents. Duties include answering phones and transferring calls accordingly, giving information of our services, filing, helping with various projects, assisting individuals and families and treating them with dignity and respect, etc. Volunteer mornings or afternoons, Monday through Friday.

·Gress Mountain Ranch, Orefield, needs creative needlecrafters to knit, crochet or felt alpaca fleece projects to be sold to raise funds for the ranch. Volunteers must have the ability to create products from the fleece of alpaca/llama.

·The Literacy Center, Allentown, serves community members of all skill sets, goals, backgrounds and needs. They are always looking for ways to expand the knowledge of their students and expose them to new ideas. Come and share your knowledge about your career, field of study, government computers, etc. The only requirement is enthusiasm to share your knowledge.

·Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley, Bethlehem, is looking for volunteers to coordinate drives for empty shoe boxes to be used for their annual "Holiday Hope Chests" program. Shoe boxes may be dropped off at 2121 City Line Road, Bethlehem between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
