Samuel Adams Brewery, Breinigsville, recently donated $14,000 to the Upper Macungie Township Police Department to purchase Toon, a 17-month-old Belgian Malinois from Holland.

Toon, pronounced "Tone" will be partnered with Officer Ryan Rhoads.

The new K-9 replaces Pako, who recently retired after suffering a stroke in January while training.

Toon will undergo rigorous training with Rhoads before starting his new job and proudly displaying his new UMTPD badge, Lt. Pete Nickischer explained.

"Upper Macungie Township police wish to share theirs thanks with Samuel Adams Brewery for doing its part to help Upper Macungie stay safe," said Nickischer.
